The (Re)Claim Singapore! project has the primary purpose of elevating the stature of Singaporean artistic practice for local and international audiences by championing Singapore's next generation of visual arts practitioners. The project will provide emerging Singaporean artists with direct financial assistance to cover production costs and presents a high profile presentation opportunity by utilising a high traffic display window within an iconic Singapore landmark, the Raffles Hotel.
Chan Hampe Galleries (Singapore) in partnership with Metro Arts (Australia) presents the ‘Singapore <> Brisbane Exchange’, a cultural exchange program that will comprise of a six week residency period (three weeks in Singapore and three weeks in Brisbane) for four artists, a curator, and a writer, resulting in a major exhibition project at Metro Arts to coincide with the Asia Pacific Triennial at the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art (8 December 2012 – 7 April 2013).
